What style will you use for my piece?

You can get a good idea of my general style by scrolling through my shop or visiting my Instagram feed (instagram.com/pixieyates). The illustration will be my artistic interpretation of your photo and not a hyper-realistic translation, i.e. some features may not be an exact likeness. The larger the piece, the more detail can be incorporated. The subject will be centered on a plain background, however, if you'd like a simple background added, this can be done for an extra charge. Your illustration will be dated with the year and hand-signed by the artist on the front.

What materials will be used?
---------------------------------------
Black and white illustrations are hand-drawn in black ink. Full-color illustrations may combine black ink with hand-painted watercolor (and may include colored pencil/marker for details). Due to monitor/screen calibration differences, actual colors may vary slightly from what appears online. All illustrations are done on 100% cotton, acid-free, archival white paper (140 lb), typically with a 0.5-1.0 inch border, making it suitable for trimming and/or framing.

Will you send me a sketch for approval?

Depending on the complexity of the illustration, or at your request, I will provide my final pencil sketch for one round of minor revisions. Please note that your timely feedback is necessary in order to prevent delays in the completion of your order. Any further rounds of revisions will be assessed for an additional fee. If I do not receive your response within the designated timeframe, I’ll assume there are no changes and proceed with painting. As the custom illustrations are created by hand, once inking/painting has begun, revisions cannot be made.

NO. Your custom illustration will arrive WITHOUT A MAT and UNFRAMED.

When will my art ship and deliver?

Processing time varies based on the current volume of projects and when your reference photos are received. Send an Etsy message BEFORE you order for any holiday/special event shipping requests. Your artwork will be carefully wrapped in an acid-free cellophane sleeve with cardboard backing and you'll receive a FedEx tracking number via email as soon as your artwork is on the way!
